Coal is the base of all electric energy used in the world. What happens when the price doubles overnight?

Nevermind that millions of jobs  wiped out, and new “Enrons” trading funny paper called carbon credits. That is f&(ing infuriating enough.

Nopherhole has three main choice as an electric utility.

1. Take it up the a$$.
2. Buy alternative energy that is priced at the second highest cost price, that is coal. [which has doubled in price]
3. Think outside the buns.

Three is the USE space.

Three includes fibbing on the amount of coal used. The average Joe Wacko  doesn’t realize that coal comes in different flavors. Some coal is just barely beyond disintegrating vegetable matter. At the other end of the scale is super hard, high carbon coal. The energy content is doubled for the hard carbon coal, typically from the Eastern US coal mines and higher in sulphur. A large proportion of utilities have switched [because of environmental regulation] to Western Coals, which have down to half the energy in them per ton.

Long story short, sneak some Eastern coal into the mix, but count it as Western Coal. All those heavily laden trains descending from Wyoming Western Coal mines go east will have return traffic loaded with some counterfeit coal from the East.

Three also includes buying coal energy from Canada and Mexico. A little wallet grease will go a long way toward having the source for the energy labeled as wind, solar, biomass, and burning SUV’s.

Getting that energy to the United States may involve [and it must if something is really flowing], huge, million volt direct current transmission lines going north and south. These will be built through areas that have less than one person per square mile. Won’t that be lovely.

Aha you say, nopherhole forgets that North Dakota can build huge wind farms and hook those up to the huge, million volt direct current transmission lines. Wrong you wacko. If nopherhole builds a coal plant in Canada and then builds huge, million volt direct current transmission lines, nopherhole builds those lines to carry its energy only. Why? to add one more kilowatt to a huge, million Volt direct current transmission line traversing land with one person per square mile involves building huge facilities that cost $millions. Well, you say, the wind energy can pay to hook up. Wrong! Wackos complain that wind farms paying their fair share is wrong. It should be FREEEEE.

Three also includes doing stuff to the coal that some might consider “Thinking outside the buns.” Coal comes with water in it. Boiling off the water in the fire sucks up energy. So nopherhole dries his coal more to get more energy with the same amount of carbon. Nopherhole can’t think of an easy way to do this. Western coal, if it contacts too much air, spontaneously bursts into flame. And it’s a Hydrogen flame which is hard to detect. The first fatality is on Obama’s train ticket to hell.

Three also includes throwing other stuff into the fire. Mostly money, but tires, mulch and the morgue’s John Does come to mind.

Okay – Here it goes – Obama is a Tyrant

Well what does that mean?

Obama has manufactured a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object. to evinces a design to reduce we the people under absolute despotism, so it is the peoples’ right, it is the peoples’ duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for the peoples’ future security. –Such has been the patient of certain states and more typically private citizens of the several states and protected-flagged territory; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government. The history of the present President of the United States is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over above-mentioned states, individuals and incorporated statutory business; in violation of the takings clause and the Constitution of the People as Amended. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good including firing of private citizens the duly elected servants of nongovernmental corporate entities, transferring wealth to political entities of his choosing and to secure such “Machine Politics” found in the many states but specifically the State of Illinois and the metropolitan government of Chicago.

He has forbidden such governmental inspectors and legal entities to perform their duties as legislated and regulated per such rules as passed legally by the legislative and administrative bodies except those to which a politically expedient to his Party, those entities created to foster and further his Tyranny, or to suspend in their operation till his assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved legal governmental bodies for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to propose regulations or legislation to justify or lawfully enact such actions as he has caused other public corporations without support of rules and regulations lawfully enacted in corporate government or such private businesses as banks, auto suppliers, industrial concerns and house of prostitution, such as the town hall of Chicago; whereby such personal and corporate wealth is subject to arbitrary decisions by his whim. In the meantime exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavored to prevent the population of these states; for that purpose of non-citizens all rights, benefits and programs due the citizens of the aforementioned beneficiaries of the Constitution, that is, the people. Obstructing the enforcement of laws for naturalization of foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migration hither, and raising the conditions of new appropriations of lands by above-mentioned citizens, business, corporations.

He has obstructed the administration of justice, by refusing his assent to laws for established judiciary powers.

He has made judges dependent on his will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, standing armies of regulators not subject to common sense without the consent of the proper governmental regulations. He has directed his minions to designate expirations from our lungs as a dangerous gas.

He has affected to render the military dependent to his whim, refused to recognize the lack of Constitutional rights of non-citizens, end the the national will as to treatment of enemy combatants and spies as ruled by military Conventions for lawful military actions approved by the Congresses and fought on foreign soils.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation:

For protecting non-Citizens,  by mock trial, from punishment for any murders and other crimes which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states:

For cutting off our trade with all parts of the world:

For ceding control and apologizing to foreign Tyrants and Militant Terrorists;

For imposing taxes on us without our consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury:

For transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses:

For taking away our charters, abolishing our most valuable laws, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments:

For suspending our own legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated government here, by declaring us out of his protection and waging war against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burned our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large armies of foreign mercenaries known as Democrats to complete the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow citizens taken captive on the high seas to bear arms against their country, to become the executioners of their friends and brethren, or to fall themselves by their hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the inhabitants of our various militant and barbarous to the lands of the nation in conflict with military law;

In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms: our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have we been wanting in attention to our Democrat brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, enemies in war, in peace friends.

Small Houses

Nopherhole has encouraged readers to google “small houses” before. No endorsements here, but an idea.

When nopherhole and spouse were young, the first home was an apartment of about 400 square feet. And during the reconstruction of an abandoned house, existence of a hundred square feet was the limit.

Nopherhole actively discourages that trying to live in that small a house, and there is nothing wrong with big.

Nopherhole speculates that the politics of home ownership will force a change in the tax deduction for housing. But like high taxes on the width of the front of houses caused the Dutch to build extremely narrow houses, and high taxes on the number of rooms in a house forced the sales of armoires rather than built in closets [true], changes are afoot.

The law of secondary unexpected repercussions will have the same effect in the housing market, look to something happening during the Obama administration.

The only thing cool about Cuba are the cars left over from the Gambling Gangs still being driven.

Think about that when Obama shuts down automobile factories. People keep their cars longer, no new cars are made, and parts have to be improvised because the manufacturing has disappeared.

Unintended secondary effects – Closing dealerships is like Government Health Insurance Coverage.

Kansas City, where nopherhole lives, was home to thirty dealerships, which, with Obama as GM, will close. This leaves, nopherhole has been told, that about four or five dealerships will survive.

Nothing the federal government is going to do reduces the number of car problems people are going to experience. Now think of what happens here. Thousands of car repairs are still going to occur, but the number of dealership mechanics will decline markedly. Then tie that with the superguarantees that promise auto maker maintenance for some number of extended years.

Will the customer go without a car while waiting for a multimonth waiting line to clear? Remember, if the customer goes to the dealership, the fix is “free” – covered by warrantee. Go to an independent mechanic or shop and the repair will cost something more than nothing.

And many mechanics are going to be thrown into the independent mechanic shop work force. What happens to those folks?

Pray that something happens to Obama’s policy?

What happens when that same company has no dealers in your town? Does a political agenda drive what cars models are maintained? Nopherhole has tied the announcement of Chicago as the Olympics game site tied to Obama firing GM’s GM in concert with the siting committee visiting Chicago on the same day. The siting committee has members from countries world wide. Obama has the strength to ruin each country’s economy by  no longer making GM parts there.

The announcement of the site is to be in the Fall. Anybody out there think Obama will be portrayed in a positive light because of the choice? But the Chicago hard political arm will be flexed now for the result then.
